Get
ready for downtown Modesto’s first free, “Green” social event, Think and
Drink Green, on Sunday, November 15th from 2pm-6pm at Camp 4
Wine Café. The event, co-sponsored by the Tuolumne River Trust, the local
Yokuts Group of the Sierra Club and Camp 4 Wine Café will feature outdoor and
wildlife themed art and photography, a broad range of live musical
entertainment and of course organic wine and beer. These groups are honored to
host American climbing legend Royal Robbins as he signs his much anticipated
autobiographical book “My Life”.
Think
and Drink Green will
provide a forum for the two leading non-profit environmental advocacy groups in
Modesto, the Tuolumne River Trust and the Sierra Club, to highlight their
ongoing programs. These include the emerging Lower Tuolumne River Parkway and
diverse outdoor adventures.
The
afternoon will feature musicians Johnny and Kelly and Jeff Bonilla performing
pop alternative music, Scott Bartenhagen, a local indie rock and folk musician,
and Francisco Ortiz, who will add Brazilian jazz beats into the mix.
Photographer
Andrew Maurer of Trout Stream Designs will share amazing images of wild trout
through the eyes of a fly fishermen. Jeremy Obers will display images he has
"captured kindly" in the valley and the nearby foothills, while his
wife Christine will add her beautiful pastel drawings. Local artist Linda Knoll
will showcase her watercolor paintings. A portion of art sold will
benefit the Tuolumne River Trust and the Sierra Club.
“The
purpose of Think and Drink Green is to remind our community of the
importance of living socially responsible, environmentally conscious lives by
giving back to both the Tuolumne River Trust and the Sierra Club,” said Damon
Robbins, Camp 4 Wine Café owner.
Think
and Drink Green
