With just one minute of your time, you can help secure thousands of dollars for wetland conservation! Budweiser and The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation have teamed up to conserve the outdoors by awarding $50,000 to one of four finalists competing for the title of "Budweiser Conservationist of the Year". The Tuolumne River Trust is happy to announce one of our own members, Bill Lyons, Jr., has made it to the final four.
You'll be asked to enter your birthdate to assure you're 21 year or older, and then be taken immediately to vote.
Bill Lyons, Jr. and his family are long-time supporters of the Tuolumne River Trust and very involved with our work to protect and restore the River. He and his family have managed their family ranch, nestled between the Tuolumne, San Joaquin, and Stanislaus Rivers, to improve and restore hundreds of acres of wetlands while growing corn and pasture mix to provide feeding grounds for vast numbers of over-wintering water fowl in the Central Valley. Bill was instrumental in removing the Aleutian Cackling Goose from the endangered species list. He hasalso worked with Environmental Quality Incentives Program and Natural Resource Conservation Services to produce measurable results in improving air and water quality. Collaborating with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and North American Wetlands Conservation Act program, Bill is dedicated to protecting, restoring and enhancing hundreds of acres of wetland habitat.
The winner and their conservation organization will use the money to fund conservation efforts of their choosing. The 3 runners up will receive a $5,000 grant to continue their on-the-ground efforts.
