In 2002, Patrick Koepele (then TRT's Central Valley Program Director, and now Deputy Executive Director) first stepped foot on the Dos Rios Ranch property at the confluence of the Tuolumne and San Joaquin Rivers with a vision that one day this ecologically important piece of land would be protected and restored. This spring, after years of ups and downs, and with the help of our project collaborators, project funders, and the family that previously owned the land, this vision became a reality. Over the next 5 years the Tuolumne River Trust and project collaborator, River Partners, will restore the property for wildlife and acquatic habitat improvements, flood plain restoration, and so our community can have a sanctuary where we can picnic, hike, and teach kids about nature.
And now it's time to celebrate! Join Tuolumne River Trust Board of Directors, Advisors, and Staff to toast the recent acquisition of Dos Rios Ranch and raise funds for the property's future restoration and the educational opportunities that it will provide. The evening will include:
Fine wine, beer and hors d'oeuvres overlooking the city from the Marines' Memorial Club on Union Square
Presentations of awards to those who played visionary roles in the project
A glimpse into the property's future restoration and educational opportunities the project will provide
A chance to mingle with Tuolumne River Trust's greatest supporters and most influential community members
