Introduction to Canoeing These canoe trips are ideal for participants without any previous paddling experience. Participants are introduced to the sport of canoeing and river running in mellow meandering sections of the Lower Tuolumne. We begin each trip with a safety talk and review of river morphology, water dynamics, and paddling techniques. After our introductory lessons, we float down the river to practice the newly acquired knowledge and skills.
Fall 2010 Intro to Canoeing schedule: October 10, 24
Paddle with the Salmon Each fall, as it has happened throughout millenia, salmon return to the Tuolumne River to spawn. We invite you to paddle with us to witness this magnificent event and learn about salmon and river ecology through our interpretive Paddle with the Salmon canoe floats. It is not necessary to be an experienced paddler to participate on these trips and experience the outstanding riparian habitat of the Lower Tuolumne River Parkway.

Exploring the Lower Tuolumne Parkway The exploring the parkway canoe series are great for paddlers of all levels and are a perfect way to explore the different sections of the Lower Tuolumne River. Each trip explores a different section of the parkway and passes through beautiful riverine landscapes. During these floats you are bound to see several species of fauna and flora, including but not limited to salmon, bald and golden eagles, osprey, river otters, and the striking colors of fall as the oaks and alders begin to lose their leaves.
