The Environmental Protection Agency today listed the Tuolumne River as an impaired body of water for high temperature - a key indication of poor water quality. The river was already listed as impaired for mercury, pesticides and other chemicals. The addition of temperature signals a growing concern regarding water quality on the lower Tuolumne River. This comes on the heels of a recently revealed plan that could divert more water from the Tuolumne.
