Listed below are different ways to make your gift.

BEQUESTS
Gifts to Tuolumne River Trust from your will or revocable trust enable you to support river protection and make a difference in the lives of future generations. Called a "bequest", this gift is easy to arrange with your attorney or financial consultant, will not alter your current lifestyle, and can be modified to adjust to your current needs.

Residual Gift
A residual gift comes to the Tuolumne River Trust after your estate expenses and specific bequests are paid. Sample language: "I give and devise to Tuolumne River Preservation Trust located in San Francisco, CA all (or state a percentage) of the rest, residue, or remainder or my estate, both real and personal, to be used for its general support (or for the support of a specific program.)"

Specific Gift
A specific gift states a gift of an exact amount to be contributed to Tuolumne River Trust from your estate. Sample language: "I give and devise Tuolumne River Preservation Trust located in San Francisco, CA  the sum of $_______ to be used for its general support (or for the support of a specific program.)"

Contingent Gift
The Tuolumne River Trust can be named as an alternate beneficiary in your will or trust if one or more of your specific bequests can not be fulfilled. Sample language: "If (insert name) is not living at the time of my demise, I give and desive Tuolumne River Preservation Trust located in San Francisco, CA the sum of $_______ (or all or a percentage of the remainder of my estate) to be used for its general support (or for the support of a specific program.)"

  • "Dollars for Doers" - employee's can fill out a form for each volunteer hour they spend with TRT and their company will make a donation per hour to TRT. Double the good deed!
  • Matching Gifts - employees can fill out a form provded by their workplace when they make a donation to TRT and their company will match their gift (sometimes dollar-for-dollar) by also sending a donation to TRT.
  • Payroll giving campaigns - your workplace may have an online system in place (such as Global Impact) where employees can choose from a list of non-profit organizations to support through a small payroll deducation of their choice. Make sure TRT is on their list!
