PRIVACY POLICY Effective Date: February 9, 2005 Our Commitment to Privacy This website, http://www.tuolumne.org, is owned and operated by the Tuolumne River Preservation Trust. Our intention is to provide an informative tool for those interested in conservation and as a means of allowing our members and the public to become more involved in our mission. Your privacy is important to us and this notice is designed to assist you in understanding how we collect and use the personal information you provide to us and to assist you in making informed decisions when using our site. Personal Information Collected Online In general, when you visit our website and access information you remain anonymous. We do not require you to register or provide personal information to us to view our website. There are occasions when we will ask for additional information. We do this to better understand and respond to your needs, and provide you with services that may be valuable to you. For example, personally identifiable information may be collected in order for you to subscribe to the Tuolumne River Trust’s eCascade, purchase merchandise or donate to the Trust via the DonateNow System. Our registration forms require users to provide us contact information that may include name, address, email address, interests, and similar information. We do not request or store sensitive information from our visitors, such as social security numbers or credit card numbers. At any time you can add or remove your name and contact information from the Tuolumne River Trust’s list by contacting us at staff@tuolumne.org or calling (415) 292-3531. Personal Information Collected from the DonateNow System The Tuolumne River Trust has partnered with Groundspring.org to facilitate our online credit card transactions. When you make a donation to the Tuolumne River Trust using the Groundspring.org DonateNow button, Groundspring.org collects a variety of personal information about you in order to properly process your donation. This personal information may include: name, address, phone, email address, "acknowledgement" or "in memory of" information, and donation amount. Groundspring.org shares this information with the Tuolumne River Trust. This way the Trust can enter you into our database of supporters. You also have the option to make your donation anonymously. If you choose this option, Groundspring.org will not share any of your contact information with the Tuolumne River Trust. Groundspring.org collects credit card information from the Tuolumne River Trust’s DonateNow system so that Groundspring.org can process donations. This information is maintained on a secure server for internal processes only. Groundspring.org also uses a credit card processing company to process donations. This company does not retain, share, store, or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes. Links The Tuolumne River Trust provides links to other websites as a resource for members and the public who are interested in additional information. We encourage you to view their privacy policies as well. Any information you share with these websites is subject to their policies and practices and is independent of the Tuolumne River Trust. Cookies The Tuolumne River Trust’s site does not use cookies to maintain a user's identity. Web Log Files Like most website administrators we use log files that record information such as Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and page navigation. We gather this information to track website visitor movement in the aggregate, and to gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. Our goal in gathering this information is to learn how our members and the public are using our service. IP addresses that are recorded by our log files are not linked to personally identifiable information. Protecting Personal Information On a selective basis, personally identifiable information is made available to organizations whose postal mailings we think you will find of interest. At any time you can ask the Tuolumne River Trust to not trade your information. The Tuolumne River Trust never shares your email address with outside organizations. Our Monthly eNewsletter The Tuolumne River Trust offers its own free monthly eCascade newsletter that it sends out to members and other interested individuals. Individuals can opt-in to subscribe on the Tuolumne River Trust’s website or though personal contact. Subscribers may choose to unsubscribe at any time and unsubscribe information is located at the bottom of each eCascade. Changes to our Privacy Policy If we change how we use your personal information, we will post the policy change notification on the web site. If, however, we are going to use users' personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection we will notify users via email.
