Rim Fire Restoration Tree Planting – Volunteer Opportunity
March 1 - March 31
It’s that time of year again! Rim Fire restoration tree planting will begin this March and we need your help! If you are interested in volunteering, or if you have a group interested in participating, please read the details below.
Plantings will take place Tuesdays-Saturdays throughout March. TRT will be meeting volunteers daily at 8am at the Groveland District Ranger Station, at 24545 Highway 120 in Groveland, CA 95321. From there, we will carpool to the planting sites and expect to work until 2pm on most days.
These times are relatively flexible if they do not fit your needs. Please note that many GPS systems or phone mapping applications give incorrect information for the District Ranger Station address. The ranger station is about 8 miles East of “Downtown” Groveland, and if you reach Buck Meadows, you have gone too far.
On the day of the event, we recommend wearing sturdy shoes that can get dirty, and bringing water bottles, sunscreen and a bag lunch. We will still be holding events in light rain or snow, but expect that days will be cancelled in periods of significantly bad weather. There is no obligation to work in light rain if this will be uncomfortable for you or your group. Please just let us know ahead of time whether or not you will be able to make it.
