Join us for our free snowshoe hike to Catfish Lake in the Stanislaus National Forest!
Participants will learn about natural history, snow hydrology, and plant and animal adaptations in the Tuolumne River Watershed.
Meet at the Pinecrest Snack Bar at 9 am at Pinecrest Lake. We will arrive back at the parking lot around 3 pm, so we encourage hikers to pack a lunch, snacks, and plenty of water.
Don’t forget to dress in warm clothes and layers. Depending on the amount of snowfall, snowshoes will be necessary, but not provided. Participants are responsible for bringing their own snowshoes.
You can rent snowshoes at Heidi’s for $15 or Dodge Ridge for $25 dollars, this price includes poles. Other options for snowshoe rentals include any REI for $20 or Sierra Nevada Adventure Co. in Sonora for $20. Please note that you must arrive at 9 am with your snowshoes in hand and ready to hike.
Hikers will be required to sign a liability waiver. Minors will be required to hike with a parent.
