Wild and Scenic Rivers: An American Legacy, published in 2017 by Oregon State University Press, presents an illuminating portrait of the world’s premier system for the protection of natural rivers. This book by award-winning author and photographer Tim Palmer reveals the history and essential policies of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers Act and showcases 160 spectacular color photos of designated rivers from all parts of the country.

At this FREE event, Tim will show some of these photos and tell stories about this creative conservation initiative during a presentation in Oakland’s Preservation Park on Wednesday, January 17th at 6:30pm. Please join Tim and the Tuolumne River Trust in celebrating this path-breaking approach to conservation as we near the 50th anniversary of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers Act in 2018.

Hourly parking is available at City Center West Garage on Martin Luther King, Jr. Way, directly across the street from the entrance to Preservation Park.
