Trekking the Tuolumne

Since 2006, Trekking the Tuolumne River has taught thousands of 4th and 5th graders in the Central Valley about where their water comes from, the plants and animals that call the Tuolumne home, and what they can do to protect the river. Through this California science-standards based curriculum, we provide students with a hands-on learning experiences both in the classroom and out at the river.

Trekking educates both students and teachers about the river and its watershed through classroom activities, field trips, and service learning opportunities. As a result of this experience, school communities cultivate a sense of pride and ownership of their Tuolumne River.
