Public Education

Beyond our classroom education programs for youth, our team educates members of the public about issues that range topically from where their water comes from, to how they can get help advocate for parks, to why forest management is critical to the health of our water supply and the humans and animals that rely on it. We are always working to ensure that our community members have avenues to get involved in our programs in ways that advance our work to protect and restore the watershed.

We engage our communities through events (now virtually), such as the Great Race for Saving Water, the Tuolumne River Film Festival, the Modesto Rec Fest, Canoeing with the Salmon, snowshoe hikes, and other recreation activities. We also present at conferences and to community groups who are interested in learning how they can make a positive impact in their communities.

Using digital media, such as our website, social media channels, and emails, we educate constituents about the current happenings in the watershed. We work hard to take complex issues that are often bogged down with technical terms, jargon, and sometimes intentionally confusing narratives, and make them accessible to a wider audience. In this way, you can more easily engage with our content and stay active in the many programs we offer.
