Overview: This 8-mile roundtrip hike brings you to two beautiful mountain lakes, along with numerous meadows and lots of granite. The trail is accessed via the Crabtree Trailhead. A little under 2 miles into the hike there are excellent views of the Emigrant Wilderness, and at around 2.5 miles you arrive at Camp Lake. A little over a mile further on the trail is Bear Lake. If you are looking for a slightly shorter hike, one option is to turn around when you get to Camp Lake for a roundtrip hike of 5 miles.

Notes: This is a very popular hike in the warm months, and Crabtree Trailhead tends to fill up on weekends and holidays. The trail can get dusty late in the summer, and mosquitoes are bad when the meadows are wet. There have been issues with overuse of areas surrounding these two lakes. If camping, be sure to set up far enough away from the water to avoid damaging the shoreline.

Season: Summer through early Fall
